Fire department kicks off safety week with demonstrations

The Aberdeen Fire Department kicked off National Fire Prevention Week on
Saturday by inviting local children to find out how firefighters extinguish
fires, save people from a burning vehicle, climb ladders to high buildings,
and perform other ins and outs of fighting fires.
Approximately 30 children attended the open house Saturday at the fire hall
in downtown Aberdeen. The all-week open house is being sponsored by the
Aberdeen Fire Department itself.
